So if you choose to make the move to Bartlett, you can benefit from the excitement of the city while still getting the peace and quiet of a small town. Whether you’re spending an afternoon in this gorgeous gem or you’ve just moved here and have a Saturday to explore, below you’ll find our recommended itinerary.

Things to Do in Bartlett, Tennessee

Start Your Day with Brunch

Sleep in a little and then ease into your day with brunch at Sweet Pea’s Southern Cookin’, which has rave reviews on TripAdvisor. The restaurant opens at 11:00am, so get there a little before then so you can be the first one in to snag a table. Treat yourself to a fried appetizer, like the dill pickles or breaded mushrooms (especially if you plan on walking the trails later). If you’re feeling nostalgic, you can order the bologna sandwich, prepared in your preferred method: deep-fried, grilled, or barbecued. If want something a little lighter, try their house salad. It comes with fresh greens, cheese, potato sticks, and tomatoes, and you can order the daily soup to go with it.

Take in History

In the heart of Bartlett’s historic district, you’ll find the Nicholas Gotten House. This home-turned-museum dates back to 1871, and was built by Nicholas Gotten, the town’s first constable. Now, the Bartlett Historical Society uses the home to show off the town’s historical artifacts.

Go Shopping and Get Dessert

If you have some money burning a hole in your wallet, you can put it to good use at the shops along Bartlett Boulevard. Bartlett Furnishings has a wide selection of home decorations and furniture, so if you want to spruce up your living room with a new mirror or bookcase, you’re in luck. This locally owned business has been serving the community since 1974, and their online catalog offers a sneak peek to what you can find in the store. Afterward, stop by Quintessential Sweets or BartlettDonuts for a sweet treat.

Walk the Greenways or Visit the Park

Once evening hits and the area has cooled down a bit, go for a walk along Wolf River Greenway. This park is just a 15-minute drive from the heart of Bartlett. Although it’s technically in Memphis, it’s on the outskirts of the city, making for an easy drive. The city has plans to eventually connect a 10-foot and 12-foot wide pathway from downtown Memphis to Collierville, Tennessee.

You could also visit W.J. Freeman Park, which is located in Bartlett’s city limits. This 100-acre park has a 10-mile trail, lighted tennis courts, and athletic fields. Pack a snack and enjoy it at one of the park’s picnic tables or relax in the shade under the gazebo or a pavilion.
